Lamtluang Online News, Mamit, December 12, 2024: The relief assistance for Myanmar Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Mizoram, initiated by the State Government's Home Department, has reached Mamit District. The relief assistance, which includes food grains, was distributed starting from December 10, 2024.
The distribution of relief assistance was overseen by Pu Lalrinchhana, District Organiser, DM&R, and the Village Level Committee on Myanmar Refugees/IDPs. The relief assistance was first distributed to refugees in Dapchhuah and Nghalchawm villages, which have a high concentration of refugees. On December 10, 2024, the relief assistance was distributed to refugees in Dapchhuah village, and on December 11, 2024, it was distributed to refugees in Nghalchawm village.
A total of 373 bags (184.04 quintals) of relief assistance has been allocated for refugees in Mamit District, with each individual receiving 31.5 kilograms of food grains. The relief assistance is expected to be distributed to all refugees and IDPs in Mamit District by the end of the year.
