Lamtluang Online News: The Lunglei Officers' Club (LOC) members have contributed a sum of ₹1,50,000 (Rupees one lakh fifty thousand) to support the underprivileged and needy individuals in Lunglei town during the Christmas celebrations in 2024. The charity sum was handed over to the Young Mizo Association (YMA) Sub-Headquarters Lunglei officials on 7 December 2024.
The event was organised by the Land Revenue & Settlement Office, Lunglei, and was chaired by LOC Assistant Secretary Er Lalropuia Hmar, Sr EE PHED LWSMD. Dr Zoramthangi Renthlei, Dental Surgeon, Civil Hospital Lunglei, delivered the invocation. LOC Treasurer Pi C. Rothangpuii, Principal, Nursing School Lunglei, presented the report, while LOC President Pu Francis Lalnuntluanga Ralte, Commandant, 2nd Bn MAP, handed over the charity sum to Lunglei Sub-Headquarters YMA Secretary Pu Zothanzuala Hnamte. LOC Secretary Pu Beitlotha Nohro, Settlement Officer, LR&S, delivered the vote of thanks and closed the event.
The charity sum handover event was attended by several LOC members, as well as officials from Sub-Headquarters YMA, including the Secretary, Treasurer, and Finance Secretary. The Sub-Headquarters YMA will distribute the charity sum to the needy individuals and families in Lunglei town during the Christmas celebrations.
The Lunglei Officers' Club was established on 18 December 2023, and last year, the club organised a charity concert during the Christmas celebrations and donated to 21 underprivileged families. On the same day, the LOC also organised a farewell ceremony for their Vice President Er Laltlanchhunga, Sr EE PHED RWD Lunglei, who retired in November 2024, and a Christmas party in the evening.
