CHIEF MINISTER VISITS REHABILITATION CENTRE AND DONATES ₹5 LAKHS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS

Lamtluang Online News: On 8 December 2024, Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma visited the Tawngtai Bethel Camping Centre (TBCC) at Sakawrtuichhun in Aizawl and handed over ₹5 lakhs to the centre for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, local MLA and Adviser to the Chief Minister, during his visit.

In his address, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma stated that the state government has been providing rice at ₹6 per kilogram to various homes and institutions, benefiting around 14,788 people.

However, he noted that the number of beneficiaries is increasing, and the government is considering ways to increase the quantity of rice provided.

The Chief Minister encouraged the inmates of TBCC to take advantage of the rehabilitation programmes and to strive for a better life.

He emphasized the importance of self-reliance and hard work, citing the example of Wild animals and birds, who overcame their struggles through determination and perseverance.

The Chief Minister advised the inmates to have a positive mindset and to work hard to achieve their goals, saying "When you face difficulties, you are the ones who suffer the most. Humans have different ways of coping with difficulties. While some people face challenges with courage, others struggle with anxiety."

He urged the inmates to be strong and courageous, take advantage of the opportunities provided to them, and strive for a better life.

The programme was chaired by Pu TT Zohmingthanga, and the Chief Minister's donation of ₹5 lakhs for Christmas and New Year celebrations was a gesture of goodwill and support for the rehabilitation centre and its inmates.

Pu TT Zohmingthanga and his wife Pi K L Hmangaihzuali are the founders of TBCC, which provides rehabilitation services to around 1270 people.

The Chief Minister had visited TBCC earlier on December 8, 2023, before taking oath as the Chief Minister, and his visit yesterday marked his second visit to the centre.
