ASSAM RESIDENT ARRESTED WITH 99 GRAMS OF HEROIN IN CHAMPHAI

Lamtluang Online News, lChamphai, 10 June 2026: At around 10:30 a.m. today, officials of the Excise & Narcotics Enforcement Department seized 99 grams (8 soap cases) of heroin near the Seventh-day Adventist motor workshop at Zotlang, Champhai, Mizoram.

A motor car bearing registration number MZ 01/L-0335, which was allegedly used for transporting the contraband, was also seized. In connection with the case, Ikbal Hussain (28), son of Fakar Uddin, a resident of Karimganj, Assam, was arrested on the spot.

A case has been registered against him under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and further investigation is underway.

MNF ANNOUNCES ZOTHANSANGI HMAR AS RAJYA SABHA MP CANDIDATE

Lamtluang Online News: The Mizo National Front (MNF) today, 8 June 2026, announced practising advocate Zothansangi Hmar of Aizawl College Veng as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election. She currently serves as Treasurer of the MNF Legal Board.

The election for Mizoram's Rajya Sabha seat is scheduled to be held on 18 June 2026 (Thursday). The Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament will be elected by the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

ZPM ANNOUNCES K. LALTLUANGKIMA AS OFFICIAL RAJYA SABHA CANDIDATE IN MIZORAM

Lamtluang Online News, June 3, 2026: The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) today announced their candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election. The party has officially nominated K. Laltluangkima, son of the late Upa Tlanghmingthanga of Mission Veng, as their candidate.

K. Laltluangkima is currently serving as the spokesperson of the ZPM. The Rajya Sabha election in Mizoram is scheduled to be held on 18 June 2026.
