K LALRINZUALI APPOINTED AS MPSC MEMBER

Lamtluang Online News, 30 July 2026: According to an official notification issued by the Government of Mizoram, K Lalrinzuali, IAS, who is currently serving as Secretary of the Power & Electricity (P&E) and Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Departments, has been appointed as a Member of the Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC).

She will retire from her post as Secretary under the Government of Mizoram on 31 July 2026.

Before assuming office as an MPSC Member, she will be required to take the prescribed oath of office and secrecy. At present, the MPSC has only one Member besides the Chairman. Following her induction, the Commission will have two Members in addition to the Chairman.

LAMTLUANG ONLINE NEWS, AIZAWL, JULY 24: Lalbuatsaiha, son of Zosiama from Keifang, has created history by becoming the first visually impaired Mizo to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.

He successfully defended his PhD thesis on Friday, 24 July, at the Centre for South Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His doctoral research, titled India's Policy Towards Bhutan, 1998–2013, examines India's diplomatic engagement with Bhutan during the 15 year period.

Lalbuatsaiha has consistently achieved significant academic milestones. He previously became the first visually impaired Mizo to obtain both a Master's degree and an MPhil degree. He also qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in Political Science and was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in International Relations, the discipline in which he pursued his doctoral studies.

He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Government J. Thankima College, Bawngkawn,  Aizawl and resides at Zemabawk, Aizawl.

His achievement marks a historic milestone for the Mizo community and serves as an inspiring example of determination, perseverance and academic excellence in overcoming barriers to higher education.
