MIZORAM MP RICHARD URGES CENTRAL GOVERNMENT TO RESOLVE MANIPUR CRISIS

Lamtluang Online News, On 13 December 2024:  Mizoram Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha urged the Central government to take action to resolve the Manipur crisis during the Parliament House Winter Session.

Mizoram Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha expressed his appreciation to the Central government for providing significant financial assistance to Mizoram for the relief of Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Manipur refugees.

However, he pointed out that the Manipur crisis has been ongoing for a long time, resulting in the loss of over 200 lives, destruction of over 50,000 houses, and damage to over 300 churches.

He emphasized that it is essential for the Central government to find a solution to this crisis, and if they do not find a better way to resolve it, more lives will be lost.

Despite the deployment of Paramilitary Forces by the Central government, Richard stated that the conflict between the two communities cannot be resolved without peace and reconciliation.

Therefore, he urged the Central government to facilitate a dialogue between the two communities to resolve their differences and find a solution to the Manipur crisis.

Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha had received numerous requests to share his views on the Manipur crisis, but he chose to address the issue at the Lok Sabha Parliament House Winter Session, which he considered the most appropriate platform.
