MYANMAR MILITARY FORCES ATTACK VILLAGE IN SAGAING REGION

Lamtluang Online News: Myanmar military forces have launched an attack on TaPyiThar village in Swebo township, Sagaing region, resulting in the deaths of four people and the destruction of around 200 homes.

The attack, which took place between 7 and 9 December 2024, was carried out by Military council forces and Phyusawhti soldiers. According to a Swebo township PDF official, the four deceased individuals were not revolutionary soldiers or local residents, but rather unknown individuals who were caught in the crossfire.

The official stated that the Military council's attack on the village resulted in significant damage, with around 200 homes destroyed. Additionally, a Phyusawhti soldier was killed and three others injured, including PanYan village leader Aung Kyaw, also known as Awng Chaw, during a bomb attack carried out by the PDO, a local self-defense group.

The attack has raised concerns about the ongoing violence and human rights abuses in Myanmar. The international community has condemned the military's actions and called for an immediate end to the violence.
