Lamtluang Online News: On 12th December 2024, 34 Myanmar soldiers who were arrested in Tamu township, Sagaing region, escaped from Tanan Jail. The soldiers were being held for their involvement in the MyoThit village clash.
According to reliable sources, the escape was facilitated by a CDM member and MinThar police station officer, Zi Zaw Thet, who collaborated with Civil Security forces (Pah Lah Phah) and PDF to lead the 34 soldiers to freedom.
A local resident stated that the escape was due to the collaboration between Civil Security forces (Pah Lah Phah) and PDF, and that one person's mistake is punishable.
Although the CDM member and the 34 soldiers were searched for in various locations on 13th December, three motorcycles were seen entering MinThar village from the India border on the same day.
This is the second time the soldiers have escaped, and they were not punished the first time either. The escape is attributed to the collaboration between the soldiers and the Civil Security forces (Pah Lah Phah) and PDF.
The escaped soldiers include 13 arrested during the 2023 TaNan camp clash and 21 arrested in May 2024 during the MyoThit (Miauh Thit) clash, including a police officer who was caught carrying a flag.
