Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, 26th November 2024: A sensitization cum consultation meeting on Thlai thar Market was held at the Irrigation & Water Resources Department Auditorium, MINECO, Aizawl, with Dr. KC Lalmalsawmzauva, Adviser to Chief Minister, as the chief guest.
The meeting was moderated by Dr. H. Saithantluanga, OSD to Minister, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and was attended by MAMB members, district representatives from various districts in Mizoram, and buyers/commission agents.
Dr. KC Lalmalsawmzauva emphasized the importance of honesty, integrity, and teamwork in achieving success, and stressed the need for patriotism and a desire for progress in order to succeed in the Bana Kaih Scheme.
He also highlighted the importance of preserving Mizoram's fertile land and ensuring that farmers have access to stable and profitable markets, and emphasized the need for proper storage and handling of crops to ensure better prices for farmers.
During the meeting, Pu Lalhmingmuana, Managing Director, Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board, provided training on the 'Price Support' scheme under the Bana Kaih Scheme, and explained the procedures for purchasing and selling crops such as Sawhthing, Hmunphiah, Aieng, and Hmarchate.
Pu Lalhmingmuana also clarified that only crops sold through the 'Auction Centre' would be eligible for the 'Support Price'.
The meeting aimed to promote awareness and understanding of the Thlai thar Market and the Bana Kaih Scheme, and to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss and share their experiences and ideas.
