Lamtluang Online News, Lunglei , 26th November 2024: Pu Altaf Ahmad Khan, IPS (2010), has taken over as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police (Southern Range) in Mizoram. He assumed charge from Pu C. Lalthanmawia, IPS at 11:00 am on November 26, 2024.
Pu Altaf Ahmad Khan has a distinguished career, having joined the Jammu & Kashmir State Police Service in 1999. He has over 20 years of experience in counter-terrorism and has received several prestigious awards, including the President's Police Medal for Gallantry and Meritorious Service.
On his arrival in Lunglei, Pu Altaf Ahmad Khan was received by Pu C. Lalthanmawia, IPS, and other police officers at the DIG (Southern Range) Bungalow in Lunglei. The formal handing over of charge took place at the DIG (SR) office, where Pu C. Lalthanmawia, IPS, handed over the responsibilities to Pu Altaf Ahmad Khan.
Pu C. Lalthanmawia, IPS, the outgoing DIG (SR), will take over as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Northern Range).
