LEITLANGPUi MUSIC FESTIVAL TO ROCK MIZORAM FROM NOV 14-16

Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, Nov 12, 2024: The highly-anticipated Leitlangpui Music Festival is scheduled to take place in Lunglei, Mizoram, from November 14 to 16.

Mizoram Tourism Minister Lalrinpuii announced yesterday that preparations for the festival are underway, aiming to promote the state's rich cultural heritage and vibrant music scene.

The festival will kick off on November 14 with an opening ceremony and traditional day, followed by a beat contest competition on November 15.

Concerts by talented artists will be held every evening, culminating in Leitlangpui Night on November 16, featuring legendary artists.

A Museum of Leitlangpui History will also be set up during the festival.

According to Minister Lalrinpuii, the festival commemorates HW Carter, affectionately known as "Zochhawni Pa," who organized a grand concert at Serkawn in 1932 (known as Serkawn Concert).

The event will be organized by Brighter Co. and BBY Animals Event Management Team, selected through tender.

An organizing committee, chaired by Lunglei Deputy Commissioner, has been formed to ensure the festival's smooth execution.

The Ministry of Tourism has allocated Rs. 25 lakhs, NEC Rs. 10 lakhs, and the department Rs. 5 lakhs for the festival, with an additional Rs. 20 lakhs requested from the state government.

Minister Lalrinpuii extended an invitation to the people of Mizoram to attend the festival and experience the state's rich cultural diversity.

The Leitlangpui Music Festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Mizoram's music, culture, and heritage.
