Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, Mizoram - 25th November 2024: A two-day national seminar on "India's Foreign Policy: Coping with the Changing World" commenced today at Mizoram University. The seminar is jointly organised by the Department of Political Science, Mizoram University, and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi.

I&PR Minister Dr Vanlalthlana inaugurated the seminar, stressing the importance of research-based policy-making. He noted that foreign policy is closely linked to domestic policy and that a strong domestic foundation is essential for effective foreign policy.

Dr Vanlalthlana highlighted the significance of the "Act East Policy" for Mizoram and India's northeastern region, given its strategic location. The seminar features a session on "India's Eastern Orientation and Neighbours," which is closely related to the "Act East Policy." Other notable speakers at the seminar include Amb Rajiv Bhatia, Prof D C Deka, Prof Tenepalli Hari, and Dr Tunchinmang Langel.

The seminar is being chaired by Prof J Doungel, Chairperson of the Seminar Committee, Department of Political Science, Mizoram University. The welcome address was delivered by Prof A Shyamkishor, Head of the Department of Political Science, Mizoram University.
