MIZORAM AGRICULTURAL MARKETING BOARD DISCUSSES HMUNPHIAH PROCUREMENT AND GINGER PROCESSING

Lamtluang Online News: A high-level meeting was held today (November 20, 2024) at the Chief Minister's office in Mizoram, led by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, to discuss the procurement of Hmunphiah (groom grass) and preparations for ginger processing at Sairang Horticulture Centre.

The Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board (MAMB) met to finalise plans for purchasing Hmunphiah (groom grass) at Support Price, ensuring fair prices for local farmers.

As of today, 13 firms have expressed interest in purchasing Hmunphiah, with three agreeing to buy at government rates.

The meeting decided that if no other firm is willing to purchase at government rates, these three firms will be empaneled as government-approved buyers.

Discussions also focused on establishing a Ginger Processing Unit at Sairang Horticulture Centre, with representatives from three interested companies in attendance.

Dr. KC Lalmalsawmzauva, Adviser to CM, and MAMB members attended the meeting.
