MIZORAM HOSTS 16TH COMMON REVIEW MISSION

Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, 23rd November 2024: The National Health Mission (NHM), Mizoram, hosted the 16th Common Review Mission (CRM) from November 19th to 23rd, 2024. The CRM team, comprising 13 experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, visited Lunglei and Kolasib districts to review the implementation of NHM programs.

The team interacted with health officials, healthcare providers, and community members to gather insights into the strengths and challenges of NHM implementation in Mizoram. The CRM team presented their findings and recommendations to health officials and stakeholders on November 23rd, 2024, at the DHME Auditorium, MINECO.

The presentation highlighted the achievements and challenges of NHM in Mizoram and identified areas for improvement. The Common Review Mission is an annual exercise conducted by the MoHFW to review the implementation of NHM across the country.

The mission aims to identify best practices, challenges, and areas for improvement, and to provide recommendations for strengthening NHM implementation. The CRM team was led by Dr. Sushil Vimal, Deputy Commissioner - Urban Health, MoHFW.

The CRM team visited various health facilities in Lunglei and Kolasib districts, including district hospitals, community health centres, and primary health centres. They interacted with health officials, healthcare providers, and community members to gather insights into the strengths and challenges of NHM implementation in Mizoram.

The closing ceremony of the 16th CRM was held on November 23rd, 2024, at the DHME Auditorium, MINECO. Dr Eric Zomawia, Mission Director, NHM, Mizoram, delivered the welcome address, while Pi Sangchhin Chinzah, Secretary, (H&FW), Government of Mizoram, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The 16th CRM was a significant event that provided an opportunity for the NHM, Mizoram, to showcase its achievements and challenges. The mission's findings and recommendations will help strengthen NHM implementation in Mizoram and improve healthcare services in the state.
