The incident occurred when the Minister's pilot vehicles passed through the check gate without issue, but the Minister's flag car and accompanying vehicles were stopped by Assam Rifles personnel, who demanded to know the occupants' names. The situation escalated, with the Minister's security team detaining one of the Assam Rifles personnel.
Similar incidents occurred on October 14 and 17, with Assam Rifles attempting to stop the Minister's convoy in Ngopa and Bungbangla, respectively. The confrontations have left the Minister and his team shaken, with reports of Assam Rifles personnel using aggressive tactics, including pointing barrels and using wire nets to block the road.
