LITERARY FESTIVAL “THU LEH HLA KUTPUI” HELD AT CHAMPHAI

On October 29, 2024, at 10:00 am, the Art & Culture Department and Mizo Academy of Letters (MAL) jointly organized the Literary Festival, “Thu leh Hla Kutpui,” at Govt. Champhai College Multipurpose Hall, Champhai.

Pu C. Lalsawivunga, Honorable Minister, Art & Culture Department, attended as the chief guest. The inaugural session was chaired by Pu VL Remliana, DC Champhai, while Pu F. Lalthanmawia, Deputy Director, Art & Culture Department, presented the report. Pu C. Lalsawivunga delivered the keynote address, and Pi Zonunthari, Joint Secretary, Art & Culture Department, offered the vote of thanks.

The Literary Festival featured the theme “A Study on Zofate Migration Processes” (Zofate thlang tlak dan zirchianna). Dr. Zoramdinthara, General Secretary, MAL, moderated the morning session, where Prof. Malsawmliana from the Department of History, Govt. T. Romana College, presented a paper titled “A Study of Zofate Westward Migration through Monoliths/Monuments” (Zofate thlang tlak dan - Lungphun hmanga zirchianna).

In the afternoon session, moderated by Dr. H. Laldinmawia, Assistant Secretary, MAL, Dr. Malsawmdawngliana, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Govt. Aizawl West College, presented a paper on “Reasons of Zofate Migration and Their Route to Westward Migration” (Zofate thlang tlak chhan leh an thlang tlakna kawng). The presentations sparked meaningful discussions.

Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director, Art & Culture Department, chaired the valedictory session, where Pu Lalthamawia Bolchhim, Assistant Professor, Govt. Champhai College, distributed mementos and certificates to the participants. The seminar was attended by 275 participants.

During the Literary Festival, the Mizoram Publication Board, Art & Culture Department showcased their published books.
