Lamtluang Online News, 11 November 2024 Champhai, Mizoram: Sub-Inspector Pi Liansangpuii of Champhai Police Station has been selected for the prestigious Union Home Minister Efficiency Medal for 2024 in the Investigation field.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, announced the award on October 31, 2024, recognizing Pi Liansangpuii's exceptional work in investigation.

She is the only officer from Mizoram to receive this honor among many Investigating Officers across India.

Champhai Superintendent of Police, Shivendu Bhushan, and the District Executive Force congratulated Pi Liansangpuii on this achievement and wished her continued success.

This award is a testament to Pi Liansangpuii's dedication and hard work in serving the community.

The Union Home Minister Efficiency Medal is awarded annually to recognize outstanding contributions in Special Operation, Investigation, and Forensic Science.

चम्फाई पुलिस उप-निरीक्षक ने प्राप्त किया प्रतिष्ठित केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री दक्षता पदक

चम्फाई, मिजोरम - चम्फाई पुलिस स्टेशन की उप-निरीक्षक पी लियान्संगपुई ने 2024 में अन्वेषण क्षेत्र में केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री दक्षता पदक प्राप्त किया है।

गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार ने 31 अक्टूबर, 2024 को यह पुरस्कार घोषित किया, जिसमें पी लियान्संगपुई के अन्वेषण में असाधारण कार्य को मान्यता दी गई।

वह मिजोरम से इस सम्मान को प्राप्त करने वाली एकमात्र अधिकारी हैं, जो भारत भर के कई अन्वेषण अधिकारियों में से हैं।

चम्फाई के पुलिस अधीक्षक, शिवेन्दु भूषण और जिला कार्यकारी बल ने पी लियान्संगपुई को इस उपलब्धि पर बधाई दी और उनके भविष्य के लिए शुभकामनाएं दीं।

TRAGEDY STRIKES: MIZORAM MAN SUCCUMBS TO HORNET STINGS

Lamtluang Online News, 9 November 2024: Vanlalmalsawmzuala, 30, son of R Lalkhawzauva, of East Lungdar tragically lost his life today (9 November 2024) due to severe hornet stings sustained while collecting a hornet nest in the jungle.

According to eyewitnesses, Malsawmzuala and friends attempted to torch the nest when he was attacked by a swarm of hornets, resulting in critical injuries. Initially treated at East Lungdar Primary Health Center, his condition temporarily stabilized. However, upon experiencing further complications, he was rushed to Aizawl for advanced medical attention.

Sadly, Malsawmzuala succumbed to his injuries merely 10 kilometers from his village, en route to Aizawl.

In Mizoram, hornet larvae are considered a delicacy, with many venturing into the jungle to collect nests. This practice involves setting fire to the nest, followed by the collection and sale of the larvae.

LUNGLEI DISTRICT ATS CRACKS DOWN ON TOBACCO VIOLATIONS

Lamtluang Online News, 9 November 2024: This morning, the Lunglei District Anti-Tobacco Squad (ATS) conducted a raid under Section 4 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 [COTPA 2003] in Lunglei Sobji Bazar and its surrounding areas, confiscating tobacco products.

Eleven individuals were found violating the law and were fined under Section 21(1) of COTPA. The total fine amount collected was ₹ 1,050.

As per Section 4 of COTPA 2003, smoking is prohibited in public places and areas frequented by the public, including:

- Auditoriums

- Hospitals

- Railway stations

- Public transportation

- Restaurants

- Government offices

- Courts

- Educational institutions

- Libraries

- Public vehicles

- Other areas where the public gathers.

Violating this section by smoking in public places can result in a fine of up to ₹200 under Section 21(1) of COTPA.

The Lunglei District ATS regularly monitors compliance with COTPA 2003 and takes action.
