Lamtluang Online News, lChamphai, 10 June 2026: At around 10:30 a.m. today, officials of the Excise & Narcotics Enforcement Department seized 99 grams (8 soap cases) of heroin near the Seventh-day Adventist motor workshop at Zotlang, Champhai, Mizoram.
A motor car bearing registration number MZ 01/L-0335, which was allegedly used for transporting the contraband, was also seized. In connection with the case, Ikbal Hussain (28), son of Fakar Uddin, a resident of Karimganj, Assam, was arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered against him under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and further investigation is underway.
