CHINLAND GOVERNMENT FORCES WITHDRAW FROM KIAMTLANG CAMP

Lamtluang Online News: Chinland government forces have withdrawn from Kiamtlang camp, located near Halkha, after being besieged by around 100 Myanmar military personnel for a week.

The camp, situated in a strategic location between Halkha and Thantlang, has been a point of contention between the Chinland government forces and the Myanmar military, with both sides attempting to capture the camp.

According to a spokesperson for the Chin Defence Force (CDF)-Hakha, the Chinland government forces had attempted to capture the camp three times in October and November, but were forced to withdraw after being outnumbered by the Myanmar military.

The spokesperson stated that the Myanmar military had launched a fierce attack on the camp, using artillery and heavy weaponry, and that the Chinland government forces had been forced to withdraw to avoid further casualties.

The camp was previously captured by the Chinland government forces on 30 November, but was retaken by the Myanmar military on 8 December after a week-long siege.

According to reports, at least 32 Myanmar soldiers were killed and 29 captured, including some CDM personnel, during the two-month battle for control of the camp.

The current situation remains tense, with the Chinland government forces and the Myanmar military engaged in a standoff near the camp.
