MIZORAM YOUTH COMMISSION CHAIRMAN FAREWELLS YOUTHS FOR PROJECT BUNIYAAD

Lamtluang Online News: On 22nd November 2024, Pu Malsawmzuala Ralte, Chairman of the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC), bid farewell to 26 Mizo youths (9 males and 17 females) who will undergo training in Hotel Management (Food & Beverages) under Project Buniyaad. The training is a collaborative effort between the MYC and Honda India Foundation.

During the farewell ceremony, the MYC Chairman encouraged the youths to be diligent and honest in their work, and to uphold the values of hard work and dedication. He also reminded them to be good ambassadors of the Mizo community and to make a positive impact wherever they go.

The Chairman further advised the youths to be adaptable and to learn from their experiences. He also encouraged them to strive for excellence and to be committed to their work.

The youths who will undergo training have been selected through a rigorous interview process. They will be trained in various hotels across India, including Fairmont (Udaipur), Choki Dhani (Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Indore), Orange Tiger (Goa), Sarvar Hotel (Hyderabad), and Status Club (Kanpur).

Project Buniyaad Hotel Management (Food & Beverages) Training was launched by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma on 18th September 2024 at the MYC Auditorium. Under this project, the MYC is currently conducting F&B Training in Aizawl and Lunglei. The third batch of training is scheduled to commence in Aizawl in December, and the trained youths will be placed in top hotels in India.

MIZORAM SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT QUARTERLY REVIEW MEETING HELD

Lamtluang Online News: On 22nd November 2024, a Quarterly Review meeting of the School Education Department was held at the School Education Complex Conference hall, chaired by School Education Minister Dr Vanlalthlana.

Minister Dr Vanlalthlana addressed the gathering, stating that Mizoram is blessed by God, who has protected the state amidst turbulent surroundings. He further stated that God has chosen us to be His instruments in serving the people of Mizoram.

The Minister exhorted the Education Department staff, stating that their offices are their pulpits, and urged them to dedicate their work to God. He also encouraged the officers to renew their commitment to their duties, acknowledging that their tasks are a form of service to God.

The Minister announced plans to consolidate schools with low student enrollment, emphasizing the importance of effective school inspections and government support in this endeavour. He stressed the need for constructing and repairing schools according to established standards, with the involvement of local District Education Officers (DEOs).

During the review meeting, Education Consultant Rev Prof. Dr. K. Thanzauva also addressed the gathering, highlighting the need for improved classroom teaching and expressing concern that the current state of education is not satisfactory. He recommended that teachers create comprehensive lesson plans to enhance the quality of education, and expressed hope that this would lead to improved classroom teaching.

Rev Prof. Dr. K. Thanzauva emphasized that the educational needs of schools cannot be met solely by the government, and that collaboration with local communities is essential.

The School Education review meeting was attended by School Education Officers, representatives from MBSE, SCERT, Samagra Shiksha, and members of the Education Reform Committee.

MIZORAM INTER VILLAGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

Lamtluang Online News: The GIG Motors MFA All Mizoram Inter Village Football Championship 2024, organised by the Mizoram Football Association (MFA), has seen 32 teams qualify for the round of 16, with 12 teams from outside Aizawl city participating.

The round of 32 will be played at two venues, Rajiv Gandhi Stadium and 1st Bn. MAP Ground, from 25 November 2024. The round of 16 will commence on 30 November 2024.

Among the 32 qualified teams, 12 teams from outside Aizawl city, including Hriphaw, Thenzawl Jt., Kolasib Jt., Vairengte Jt., Melbuk, Lungdai, Farkawn, Sihphir Venghlun, Tlangmawi, Lengpui, and Mamit Jt. Village Council, are participating.

A total of 88 villages have registered to participate in the tournament, and the champion team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh and a sial (mithun/gayal animal). The final match is scheduled to take place on 12 December 2024, at the RG Stadium.

ROUND OF 32 MATCHES:

1. Bethlehem Vengthlang will face Hriphaw on 25 November 2024, at 10:00 am, at the RG Stadium.

2. Salem Veng will take on Thenzawl Jt. on 25 November 2024, at 12:00 pm, at the RG Stadium.

3. Mission Veng will face Kolasib Jt. on 25 November 2024, at 02:00 pm, at the RG Stadium.

4. Chawnpui will take on Republic Veng on 25 November 2024, at 10:00 am, at the 1st Bn. MAP Ground.

5. Vairengte Jt. will face Durtlang on 25 November 2024, at 12:00 pm, at the 1st Bn. MAP Ground.

6. Phunchawng will take on Melbuk on 25 November 2024, at 02:00 pm, at the 1st Bn. MAP Ground.

7. Chaltlang Lily Veng will face Armed Veng on 26 November 2024, at 10:00 am, at the 1st Bn. MAP Ground.

MIZORAM SNOOKER 6 RED CHAMPIONSHIP

Lamtluang Online News: The final match of the Mizoram Snooker 6 Red Championship (2024-2025) will feature Lalrina Renthlei from Tuikhuahtlang and Lalsangzela from Khatla South. The championship, organized by the Mizoram Snooker & Billiards Association (MSBA), saw its semi-finals take place on Friday evening, with a best-of-seven frames format.

Lalrina secured his spot in the final by defeating PB Liansangzuala 4-1. In the second semi-final match, Sangzela emerged victorious, defeating Samson Lalnuntluanga 4-0.

The final match between Lalrina and Sangzela is scheduled to take place on Saturday (23 November 2024) at 4:00 pm and will be live-streamed on Explore Mizoram's YouTube channel. The Mizoram Snooker 6 Red Championship, which began on Monday, has seen participation from 35 players from across Mizoram, with all matches taking place at the MSBA Hall, Hawla Indoor Stadium, Republic Vengthlang.
