MIZO LEGENDARY DUO: LIANDINGPUII AND VANLALSAILOVA

Mizo singers Liandingpuii and Vanlalsailova 


Lamtluang Online News: Liandingpuii and Vanlalsailova are iconic Mizo singers who rose to fame as contemporaries during their heyday.

Liandingpuii became a renowned gospel singer with her debut album "Thiamchanna Kraws" in 2001, featuring hits like "A hmel mawi min hmuh tirtu" and "Van hla mawi."

She went on to release multiple gospel albums in Mizo and English, including a Christmas album in Mizo.

Vanlalsailova gained popularity with his love song debut album "Zoram Tang Fan Fan/Derna Anka Maw" in 2002, boasting hits like "Hmeltha," "MS i dawn chiang lo," and "Lung i her leh si."

Later, Vanlalsailova dedicated himself to gospel music, producing soul-stirring tracks like "Chhantu ka ngai," "Tuifinriata mi vakvai ten," "Isua neih ka duh zawk," and "A tawpah Isua."

Liandingpuii and Vanlalsailova are rightly regarded as legends among Mizoram's millennials.

Remarkably, both singers continue to inspire audiences with their music, still actively singing in the present day.

VAIVAKAWN POLICE ARRESTS LALNEIHPUIA FOR CREATING FAKE DOCUMENTS

Lamtluang Online News, October 30, 2024: Vaivakawn Police Station has arrested Lalneihpuia (27), a resident of Chawlhhmun, Aizawl, originally from South Vanlalphai, Hnahthial District. He was apprehended on October 25 for allegedly creating and selling fake certificates on social media.

Investigations revealed that since August this year, Lalneihpuia has been using his mobile phone to create and sell fake documents, including:

- HSSLC and HSLC marksheets
- HSLC certificates
- Driving licenses
- Mizoram University grade cards

He allegedly sold each fake document for Rs. 2,000.

LITERARY FESTIVAL “THU LEH HLA KUTPUI” HELD AT CHAMPHAI

On October 29, 2024, at 10:00 am, the Art & Culture Department and Mizo Academy of Letters (MAL) jointly organized the Literary Festival, “Thu leh Hla Kutpui,” at Govt. Champhai College Multipurpose Hall, Champhai.

Pu C. Lalsawivunga, Honorable Minister, Art & Culture Department, attended as the chief guest. The inaugural session was chaired by Pu VL Remliana, DC Champhai, while Pu F. Lalthanmawia, Deputy Director, Art & Culture Department, presented the report. Pu C. Lalsawivunga delivered the keynote address, and Pi Zonunthari, Joint Secretary, Art & Culture Department, offered the vote of thanks.

The Literary Festival featured the theme “A Study on Zofate Migration Processes” (Zofate thlang tlak dan zirchianna). Dr. Zoramdinthara, General Secretary, MAL, moderated the morning session, where Prof. Malsawmliana from the Department of History, Govt. T. Romana College, presented a paper titled “A Study of Zofate Westward Migration through Monoliths/Monuments” (Zofate thlang tlak dan - Lungphun hmanga zirchianna).

In the afternoon session, moderated by Dr. H. Laldinmawia, Assistant Secretary, MAL, Dr. Malsawmdawngliana, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Govt. Aizawl West College, presented a paper on “Reasons of Zofate Migration and Their Route to Westward Migration” (Zofate thlang tlak chhan leh an thlang tlakna kawng). The presentations sparked meaningful discussions.

Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director, Art & Culture Department, chaired the valedictory session, where Pu Lalthamawia Bolchhim, Assistant Professor, Govt. Champhai College, distributed mementos and certificates to the participants. The seminar was attended by 275 participants.

During the Literary Festival, the Mizoram Publication Board, Art & Culture Department showcased their published books.
