Lamtluang Online News, 28 February 2026: Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has announced that Israel has attacked Iran in order to prevent a possible assault on their country.

In Iran’s capital, Tehran, three explosions were reportedly heard. According to reports received by Lamtluang Online News, heavy smoke was seen rising from Jomhouri Square and Hassan Abad Square in central Tehran.

The Israeli government has also immediately declared a state of emergency within the country to prepare for any possible retaliation from Iran.

WOMAN DIES AFTER VEHICLE LEAVES ROAD NEAR KEIFANG IN MIZORAM

Lamtluang Online News | At about 8 pm on the night of 27 February 2026, near Keifang Dai on Champhai Road in Mizoram, around 7 km from Keifang, vehicle number MZ 04 0405 left the road and went towards the hillside. Of the four people travelling in the vehicle, Lalrinawmi, 43, wife of Lalthanzawna from Mualkawi, died at the scene. She was reported to have had no visible external injuries.

The vehicle was carrying four occupants: Lalrinawmi’s three year old daughter Zorintluangi, her mother Pi Denghnuni, and Lalchhanhima, who was driving at the time. The other three individuals are understood to have escaped without serious injuries.

Lalrinawmi’s three children, two sons and a daughter, were attending the KTP General Conference in Saitual when the accident occurred. Her eldest son stated that he was unaware that his mother had travelled.

The body has been taken to the Saitual Sub Headquarters YMA Hall, and arrangements are being made for the post mortem examination.

FORMER IAS OFFICER Dr. LALZIRMAWIA CHHANGTE APPOINTED AS MIZORAM STATE INFORMATION COMMISSIONER

Lamtluang Online News, 27 February 2026: ccording to a notification issued by the General Administration Department of the Government of Mizoram, Dr Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS (Retd.), has been appointed as the new State Information Commissioner under the Mizoram State Information Commission.

Dr Lalzirmawia hails from Tarpho village. He joined the Mizoram Civil Service in 1991 and was promoted to the Indian Administrative Service in 2019. During his service under the Government of Mizoram, he held several important positions and retired from the post of Secretary to the Government of Mizoram.

In terms of academic qualifications, he holds M.A., LL.B., B.C.S., a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and a Doctor of Ministry degree.
