PU MAISAWKA FAMILY SPREADS CHRISTMAS CHEER AMONG SENIOR CITIZENS

Lamtluang Online News: The family of Pu Lalmalsawma Ngente (Pu Maisawka) from Bilkhawthlir Kawnveng, Mizoram has distributed blankets to senior citizens in Bilkhawthlir as a Christmas present.

This act of kindness is not a one-off gesture, as Pu Maisawka's family has been distributing blankets to senior citizens in Bilkhawthlir on Christmas for several years.

According to Pu Maisawka's family, the idea behind this gesture is to spread Christmas cheer among those who are less fortunate. While planning their Christmas celebrations, they felt compelled to think about those in need, which led them to start distributing blankets to senior citizens in their area.

Pu Maisawka's family is renowned for their kindness and generosity, particularly towards those who are less fortunate. Their son, Tv Lalawmpuia, had previously organised a Christmas party for children in Bilkhawthlir, where he distributed food and gifts to those in need.

The selfless actions of Pu Maisawka's family serve as a shining example of the true spirit of Christmas.





CENTRAL YMA DONATES CHRISTMAS GIFTS TO REFUGEES

Lamtluang Online News: The Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) has donated Christmas gifts worth Rs 4 lakh to refugees from Myanmar and Manipur living in Aizawl on 21 December 2024. The gifts, which included essential items, were distributed to various refugee camps in Aizawl, including Tuiral Camp, Sihhmui Camp 1 & 2, Sairang Camp, Leitan Camp, YHAI Camp, BSUP Edenthar Camp, and RAY Camp.

A total of 125 bags of rice, 45 litres of cooking oil, 16 bags of chickpeas (chana), and 22 bags of Nutrela were donated to 8 refugee camps in Aizawl. This generous act of kindness demonstrates the CYMA's commitment to supporting those in need, particularly during the festive season.

YOUTH ICON 2024 LALSANGLIANA RECEIVES CAR GIFT FROM FANS!

Lalsangliana (Taitea) of Bawktlang village, who was crowned LBS Youth Icon 2024 at the prestigious event hosted by LPS Vision Production in Aizawl, Mizoram, has clearly made a lasting impact on his fans.

The car gift was presented to Lalsangliana by his fans, who had collectively raised funds to purchase the vehicle. This generous act of kindness is a reflection of the strong bond between Lalsangliana and his fans.



MIZORAM GOVERNMENT INITIATES PADDY PROCUREMENT PROGRAMME

Lamtluang Online News: The Mizoram Government has initiated a programme to procure paddy directly from farmers, marking a significant milestone in the state's agricultural sector. The programme, which commenced on 19th December 2024, aims to provide a fair price to farmers for their produce.

The programme was inaugurated by Pu PC Vanlalruata, Hon'ble Minister, Agriculture & Farmer Welfare Department, at Om Om Modern Rice Mill in Pangkawn, Kolasib District. The Minister announced that the government would procure paddy at a rate of Rs. 30 per kg, which is a significant increase from the previous rate.

This initiative is part of the state government's efforts to promote agricultural development and provide support to farmers. The government has also announced plans to procure other crops, including sawhthing, aieng, hmarcha, and hmumphiah, at fixed rates.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the farmers and stated that the programme is a testament to the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. He also mentioned that the government will continue to work towards the development of the sector.

The programme was attended by Pu Lalfamkima, Hon'ble Deputy Speaker, and other government officials, as well as farmers and representatives from the agriculture department.

A total of 418 quintals of paddy were procured from farmers during the first phase of the programme.
