DELAY IN MGNREGS WAGE PAYMENTS: MIZORAM GOVERNMENT ISSUES CLARIFICATION

Lamtluang Online News: The Rural Development Department of the Government of Mizoram has issued a clarification regarding the delay in wage payments to workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

The delay in wage payments has been caused by technical issues faced by the Pay and Accounts Office, which is responsible for releasing the funds.

The Central Government had released the funds for wage payments on 5 December, but the technical issues have caused the delay.

The state government has already generated the Fund Transfer Orders (FTOs) for the wage payments, and the payments will be made directly to the workers' bank accounts.

The Rural Development Department has assured that the state government is making all efforts to resolve the issue and release the payments as soon as possible.

The department has appealed to the workers to be patient and has assured that the payments will be made before Christmas.
