NEW CHIEF SECRETARY FOR MIZORAM: KHILI RAM MEENA LIKELY TO TAKE OVER

Lamtluang Online News, 31 October 2024: According to reliable sources, Khilli Ram Meena, a 1993 batch IAS officer, is set to become the new Chief Secretary of Mizoram. Currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Meena's appointment is awaited.

The development comes as incumbent Chief Secretary, Dr. Renu Sharma, is set to retire today. Despite efforts makes to appoint Mizo officer for the new CS, the Union government is yet to make an official announcement.

Earlier, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma had requested the Union government to appoint Vumlunmang Vualnam, Aviation Secretary, as the new Chief Secretary. However, Vualnam is reportedly reluctant to take up the state assignment.

In the interim, H. Lalengmawia, IAS (2005), Secretary in the Mizoram government, has been assigned additional charge. This is not the first time the state has requested a Mizo officer as Chief Secretary. Previously, former Chief Minister Zoramthanga had made a similar request, but it was not fulfilled, leading to Dr. Renu Sharma's appointment.

The official announcement from the Union government is eagerly awaited.

MIZORAM CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION DONATES ₹15 LAKH TO CM RELIEF FUND

YOUTH ICON 2024: RAMENGMAWIA AND ZOTHANKIMA RECEIVE GIFTS FROM FANS

Lamtluang Online News: On October 30, 2024, LBS Suzuki Youth Icon 2024 Top 4 winner Ramengmawia (Mawimawia), Meidum and Top 8 winner Zothankima (Kimkima), Tachhip received bikes and scooters from their fans.

Ramengmawia, Meidum singer received a Yamaha MT 15 bike from his fans, in addition to a scooty previously gifted by his constituency MLA.

Zothankima, a singer from Tachhip, also received a scooty from his fans.

The Youth Icon 2024 Top 10 winners have been showered with love, with most receiving vehicles from their fans. However, Samson Lalhunruata and Lalremsiami were the only two exceptions who did not receive vehicles from their fans.
