Mizoram Chief Minister's Running Trophy Awarded

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Art & Culture Department and Central YMA jointly organized the 13th Chief Minister's Running Trophy - Hnam Lam Competition at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Aizawl, Mizoram.

Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Art & Culture Minister Pu C. Lalsawivunga attended as the guest of honor. The event was moderated by Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director, Art & Culture, and addressed by Pu Lalhmachhuana, President, Central YMA, and Pu C. Lalthlamuana, Secretary, Cultural Sub Committee.

This year's competition saw 42 Branch YMA teams competing in Khuallam and Cheraw traditional dances

Awards:

- Overall Winner (Chief Minister Running Trophy):
    - 1st Place: Chanmari West Branch YMA
    - 2nd Place: Vaivakawn Branch YMA

Cheraw Awards:

- 1st Place: Chanmari West Branch YMA
- 2nd Place: Lamka Branch YMA
- 3rd Place: Ramthar Branch YMA

Khuallam Awards:

- 1st Place: Vaivakawn Branch YMA
- 2nd Place: Chanmari West Branch YMA
- 3rd Place: Pawlrang Branch YMA

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Pu Roneihthanga, Treasurer, Central YMA.

LALSANGLIANA CROWNED YOUTH ICON 2024

Lalsangliana from Bawktlang won the coveted title of LBS Suzuki Youth Icon 2024 at the grand finale held tonight at LPS Arena, Aizawl, Mizoram. Peter Lalnunpuia from College Veng, Aizawl secured the second position, while Lalbiakkima Hnamte from Thentlang finished third.

Final result:

- Winner: Lalsangliana (Bawktlang)
- 1st Runner-up: Peter Lalnunpuia (College Veng, Aizawl)
- 2nd Runner-up: Lalbiakkima Hnamte (Thentlang)

YOUTH ICON 2024: GRAND FINALE TONIGHT AT LPS ARENA, AIZAWL

The LBS SUZUKI Youth Icon 2024 grand finale will take place at LPS Arena, Aizawl, on 8:00 P.M tonight (19 October 2024). The top 3 contestants - Lalsangliana, Lalbiakkima Hnamte, and Peter Lalnunpuia - competed on Friday, and the final result will be announced tonight.

Tonight's program features performances by the top 5 contestants and special guest appearances by four former Youth Icon winners.

The Youth Icon 2024 winner will receive ₹2 lakh, the runner-up ₹1 lakh, and the second runner-up ₹70,000. The remaining top 10 contestants will receive ₹10,000 each.

The LBS SUZUKI Youth Icon 2024 judging panel consists of Victor Vanlalhruaia, Rosy K Remsangpuii, and Andrew Laltlankima, with Mafeli Hlondo as the host.

The public has varying opinions on who will win Youth Icon 2024, but the suspense will be resolved tonight.

CAROLINE MALSAWMKIMI: MIZORAM'S 12-YEAR-OLD TABLE TENNIS CHAMPION

Caroline Malsawmkimi, a 12-year-old from Lungdai village and daughter of Pu PK Vanlalnghaka, created history by winning gold medals in the U-15, U-17, and U-19 categories at the Mizoram Ranking Table Tennis Championship held in Kolasib.

Recognizing her potential, the Mizoram Table Tennis Association (MTTA) sponsored her training at the Table Tennis Academy in Noida. In July this year, she joined the SAI National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata and is currently sponsored by Khelo India.
