The Bharat Gaurav Train arrived from Agartala, Tripura, carrying 81 tourists, including visitors from the USA and Nepal. The Tourism Department officials presented gifts to the visitors. During their stay today, the tourists toured Aizawl and its surrounding areas, visiting places such as Aizawl Zoological Park, Solomon’s Temple, Mizoram State Museum and Aizawl Peak. At 7:00 p.m., they are scheduled to depart for Dimapur, Nagaland, without an overnight stay.
The journey began from Delhi on 3 February 2026. The tour will cover all the states of Northeast India except Manipur, and the group is scheduled to return to Delhi on 18 February 2026.
The Bharat Gaurav Train is specially designed for tourists and has a capacity of 150 passengers. It is equipped with two restaurants and a spa, offering facilities that distinguish it from regular trains. IRCTC organises this special Northeast tour package once a year, and it is open to anyone interested. After accompanying the Department officials on a brief interaction, Train Manager Himangshu Bhatt later saw the guests off towards Aizawl.
