Champhai, 14th October 2025: Mizoram
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma inaugurated Hnahsin Kut 2025 (Festival of Cosmos Flowers) at Champhai Zotlang Ground, attended by Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga, MLA, and Pu C. Lalremliana, Chairman of KVI Board.
In his address, the Chief Minister said Mizoram’s unique culture, hospitality, and scenic beauty have made it an emerging tourism destination. He noted that the state achieved a 139.5% rise in tourist arrivals last year, with 5.2 lakh visitors, the highest growth rate in Northeast India.
He emphasized that most tourists are domestic visitors whose spending benefits local communities. With the railway now reaching Sairang, tourist inflow is expected to grow even more. He urged citizens to uphold Zo values like kindness and discipline, and to develop more tourist-friendly facilities to strengthen the economy.
Pu Lalduhoma praised the Champhai community for their unity and effort in organizing Hnahsin Kut. He assured continued government support and encouraged Mizoram residents to visit Champhai during the festival.
Dr. Samuel Laldinthara, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude to all participants, noting that the festival aims to promote tourism and local culture.
The festival, in its second edition, was jointly organized by Champhai Nature Conservancy, YMA Zotlang Branch, and various local committees. Over 60,000 visitors are expected this year, with an estimated ₹1 crore in local economic benefit.
