Lamtluang Online News: The Mizoram Movement for Old Pension Scheme (MIMOPS) will stage a peaceful rally at the courtyard of Vanapa Hall, Aizawl on 1st October 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

MIMOPS, representing about 12,000 state government employees under the National Pension Scheme (NPS), is demanding a return to the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972. Members argue that the NPS places a heavy financial burden on the state, with contributions of around ₹6.5 crore per month from the Mizoram budget.

Following the example of other states opposing NPS, MIMOPS calls on the Government of Mizoram to withdraw from the scheme and to restore state control over pension and GPF accounts.

Lamtluang Online News, 25 September, 2025: The 314th meeting of the Mizoram Synod Executive Committee (SEC) was held on 24–25 September at J.M. Lloyd Hall, Synod Office. During the two-day sitting, the Committee approved the implementation of the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS) at the Synod Hospital, in response to the request made by the Government of Mizoram.

Speaking on the resolution, Rev. V.L. Luaia Hranleh, Synod Senior Executive Secretary, stated that after examining and discussing the various aspects of the MUHCS, the SEC resolved in principle to adopt the scheme. However, the Committee further decided that a proper memorandum of agreement with the Government of Mizoram must first be finalised. This agreement will subsequently be reviewed by the Officers’ Meeting, which shall also determine the appropriate time for implementation.

In addition, the SEC approved the Synod’s acceptance of the Jordan Centre at Sethawn. Noting that the Centre’s responsibilities fall under a critical policy framework, the Committee resolved that its future management will be deliberated upon in the forthcoming Synod Assembly.
