Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, Mizoram: The Mizo Youth Commission (MYC) has successfully facilitated employment for 41 Mizo youths, according to MYC Chairman Malsawmzuala Ralte.

Speaking at a meeting held  on 2 December 2024 at the ZPM General Headquarters, Ralte said that the MYC has made significant strides in creating job opportunities for Mizo youths since the ZPM government came to power.

The MYC has collaborated with Mizoram University incubation centres to establish an Entrepreneurship Development Centre at the MYC office, which is expected to be operational within the month.

Additionally, the MYC has signed an agreement with Honda company, which has provided funding for hotel management training at the MYC office. The first batch of 26 Mizo youths has already completed the training and secured employment at 4-star and 5-star hotels across India.

The second batch of students is currently undergoing training, with 20 students at the Lunglei Youth Centre and 20 students in Aizawl. They are expected to complete their training by January and secure employment.

The MYC is also in talks with Indigo Airlines and Air India to explore opportunities for collaboration, and with TATA Trust to provide training for front office assistants and housekeeping staff at hotels.

Furthermore, the MYC plans to start coaching classes for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Banking exams, with the aim of enabling as many Mizo youths as possible to join these classes.

Ralte expressed his optimism that the number of youths getting employed through MYC initiatives will increase further in the coming months.

The MYC's efforts to create job opportunities for Mizo youths have been widely welcomed, and are seen as a significant step towards addressing the state's unemployment challenges.
