LAUNCH OF "ZORAMBO COMICS" BY MIZORAM ART AND CULTURE MINISTER

Lamtluang Online News: Mizoram's Art and Culture Minister, Pu C.Lalsawivunga, launched the "ZORAMBO Comics" written by Pu B.Lalnunmawia at the Republic Vengthlang YMA Hall on 29th November 2024.

The Minister praised the author's talent and efforts in creating a comic book that showcases Mizoram's culture and values. He expressed his hope that the comic book would be well-received by the people of Mizoram and would contribute to the promotion of Mizo culture.

Pu C.Lalsawivunga noted that Mizoram has made significant progress in various fields, including politics, education, and technology, and that the comic book reflects this progress. He stated, "While we have made significant strides in politics, education, and technology, this comic book showcases our progress in the arts as well."

The author, Pu B.Lalnunmawia, shared his experience of working on the comic book for 24 years and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share his work with the public. He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Mizo culture and values through various forms of art and media.

Pu B.Lalnunmawia stated that he was inspired to create the comic book to promote Mizo culture and values, and to share the rich history and traditions of Mizoram with the younger generation. He expressed his hope that the comic book would be a valuable resource for promoting Mizo culture and values.

The launch event was attended by various dignitaries and was presided over by Branch YMA President Pu Israela. Pu K. Lalhlimpuia also presented a review of the comic book.

MEETING OF MIZORAM CSR CELL HELD

Lamtluang Online News: A meeting of the Mizoram CSR Cell was held on 29th November 2024, chaired by Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the Chief Minister (Planning & Finance). The meeting discussed the Stakeholder Consultation Meeting held in Bangalore on 13-14 November 2024, organised in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The meeting reviewed the progress made during the programme, which was attended by 15 corporate foundations and 12 civil society organisations interested in implementing CSR initiatives in Mizoram. The meeting decided to organise an awareness programme to inform CSR-eligible organisations and government agencies in Mizoram about the initiatives and progress made by these corporate foundations.

The awareness programme is scheduled to be held in the second week of December. The programme will target organisations that have already submitted reports to the CSR Cell, as well as other organisations that may be interested in implementing CSR initiatives. Organisations that have not received an invitation but are interested in attending the programme may contact the CSR Cell Member Secretary at phone number 9862868510.

Following the awareness programme, the CSR Cell plans to follow up with the corporate foundations and CSOs that attended the Consultation Meeting in Bangalore to discuss potential collaborations. The meeting also decided to share information about CSR initiatives with relevant government agencies in Mizoram.

RAJYA SABHA MP K VANLALVENA SPOKE ABOUT RAILWAY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN INDIA

Lamtluang Online News: Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena spoke about the Sihhmui railway bridge during the Parliamentary Committee on Railways meeting held on November 28, 2024. He mentioned that the bridge construction had collapsed last year, and as a result, work had been suspended for over a year.

MP K Vanlalvena also stated that the planned completion for this year had not been achieved, and at the current rate of progress, it was unlikely to be completed by 2025 as well. He emphasised the need for expedited action to complete the project.

According to the information presented in the meeting, currently, there are 1,63,810 railway bridges in India. Out of these, 11,918 bridges are those that have been identified as needing repair between 2014 and 2024, and an estimated £6.2 billion (Rs. 8,208 crore) has been allocated for their repair.

Additionally, there are 540 tunnel locations in India, with a total length of 199.96 km. Furthermore, there are 17,998 locations where railway and highway lines intersect, and plans have been made to construct bridges at all these locations.

TRAGIC FALL CLAIMS LIFE OF 19-YEAR-OLD COLLEGE VENG RESIDENT

Lamtluang Online News, Aizawl, November 29, 2024: In a tragic incident, PC Lalruathlui (19), daughter of PC Samuel, a resident of College Veng, Aizawl, fell to her death from her family's house onto the road below while hanging clothes today.

According to sources from College Veng, PC Lalruathlui had gone to the rooftop of the extension, which had no fencing, around 9:30 am to hang clothes. Unfortunately, she lost her balance and fell from the house onto the road, resulting in fatal injuries.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead at 12:30 pm. The cause of death was determined to be due to the fatal fall.

PC Lalruathlui's funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 12 pm. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
