BRANCHES' SINGING COMPETITION CONCLUDES IN AIZAWL

Lamtluang Online News: The Art & Culture Department and MUP General Headquarters jointly organized a singing competition for MUP branches in Aizawl city, which concluded successfully at Vanapa Hall.

The winners are:

1. Mission Vengthlang Branch MUP - Rs. 50,000 and certificate
2. Zemabawk North MUP - Rs. 30,000 and certificate
3. Ramhlun Vengthar MUP - Rs. 20,000 and certificate



LALREMSIAMI HMAR SHINES AS INDIA WINS WOMEN'S ASIAN CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2024

Lamtluang Online News: Lalremsiami Hmar was named "Player of the Match" in the final match! Although she didn't score against China, her exceptional performance on the field and strategic passes led to the winning goal.

India won the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024, defeating China 1-0, thanks to Deepika Kumari's decisive goal.

Remsiami, the talented Mizo player, played a crucial role throughout the tournament, showcasing her skills as a midfielder and scoring three goals.

India dominated the competition, defeating China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand. This victory solidifies India's position as one of Asia's top hockey teams.

LUNGLEI DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR DISTRIBUTES RICE TO REFUGEES

Lamtluang Online News: Lunglei District Administrator, Pu R. Lalṭhazuala, today (November 20, 2024) distributed rice to refugees in various villages across Lunglei District from his office premises.

The Administrator praised village leaders and volunteers for their efforts in identifying and assisting refugees, saying their work was "commendable." He urged them to ensure transparent distribution of rice and other aid to genuine beneficiaries.

Pu Lalṭhazuala also expressed gratitude to Local/Village Councils, YMA, medical personnel, and selfless individuals who contribute to caring for the refugees.

Today, the Administrator distributed three truckloads of rice, totaling 129.6 kg, to three urban villages: Ramthar, Farm Veng, and Serkawn.

Each refugee family will receive 20 kg of rice. Further distribution is planned in the coming days. Currently, Lunglei District is hosting 1,829 refugee families across various villages.



MIZORAM AGRICULTURAL MARKETING BOARD DISCUSSES HMUNPHIAH PROCUREMENT AND GINGER PROCESSING

Lamtluang Online News: A high-level meeting was held today (November 20, 2024) at the Chief Minister's office in Mizoram, led by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, to discuss the procurement of Hmunphiah (groom grass) and preparations for ginger processing at Sairang Horticulture Centre.

The Mizoram Agricultural Marketing Board (MAMB) met to finalise plans for purchasing Hmunphiah (groom grass) at Support Price, ensuring fair prices for local farmers.

As of today, 13 firms have expressed interest in purchasing Hmunphiah, with three agreeing to buy at government rates.

The meeting decided that if no other firm is willing to purchase at government rates, these three firms will be empaneled as government-approved buyers.

Discussions also focused on establishing a Ginger Processing Unit at Sairang Horticulture Centre, with representatives from three interested companies in attendance.
