MINISTER RECEIVES HYBRID SOLAR DRYER TECHNOLOGY

Lamtluang Online News:  The Horticulture and Rural Development Department, Government of Mizoram, has received a 'Hybrid Solar Dryer with Automated Temperature Controller Technology' from GITAM University, Visakhapatnam. The technology was handed over to Minister Prof. Lalnilawma today 16 December 2024.

According to representatives from GITAM University, this technology is designed to improve the livelihoods of farmers by providing an efficient method for drying agricultural produce. The hybrid solar dryer can maintain a consistent temperature of up to 89 degrees Celsius, making it an ideal solution for reducing post-harvest losses.

The technology is expected to benefit farmers in Mizoram, particularly those engaged in the production of fruits and vegetables. With its automated features and efficient design, the hybrid solar dryer is set to revolutionise the agricultural sector in Mizoram.

The introduction of this technology is a significant step towards promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development in Mizoram.



MIZORAM GOVERNOR MEETS MIZORAM YOUTH COMMISSION CHAIRMAN

Lamtluang Online News: Mizoram Governor, Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, met with Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) Chairman, Pu Malsawmzuala Ralte, at Raj Bhavan to discuss various initiatives and future plans of MYC.

The Governor emphasised the need for Mizo youth to seize job opportunities available across India, regardless of their educational background or geographical location. He stressed the importance of creating a comprehensive database of unemployed youth, categorised by their qualifications and skills, to facilitate job placements.

Dr Kambhampati encouraged Mizo youth to be open to exploring job opportunities outside their home state and to be proactive in seeking employment. He also urged MYC officials to work tirelessly to ensure that Mizo youth have access to better job opportunities.

During the meeting, MYC Chairman Pu Malsawmzuala Ralte briefed the Governor on the commission's initiatives and achievements, including the placement of 43 youth in various jobs during the financial year 2024-2025. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support and guidance, particularly in facilitating job opportunities for Mizo youth in other states, including the recent placement of eight Mizo youth in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.



MIZORAM SYNOD PRESENTS HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS TO CENTRAL YMA

Lamtluang Online News, December 16, 2024: Today, the Mizoram Synod presented a collection of historical documents, "YLA/YMA Thubelh", to the Central Young Mizo Association (YMA). The documents, which date back to 1936-1954, contain valuable information about the history of YMA.

The presentation ceremony was held at the Mizoram Synod office and was attended by Rev. V.L. Luaia Hranleh, Executive Secretary i/c Archives, Mizoram Synod, and Pu Kennedy Lalhmangaiha, Archivist. Rev. Dr. H. Remthanga, on behalf of the Mizoram Synod, presented the documents to Prof. Malsawmliana, General Secretary, Central YMA.

Prof. Malsawmliana expressed his gratitude to the Mizoram Synod for presenting the historical documents, which he described as a valuable treasure for the YMA. He acknowledged the importance of preserving historical records and thanked the Synod for their efforts in maintaining the archives.

The presented documents comprise 1,524 pages of "Kristian Tlangau" magazine, which featured a section dedicated to YMA news and activities from 1936 to 1954. These documents will serve as a vital resource for researchers and historians studying the history of YMA.

MIZORAM WINTER FESTIVAL 2024 INAUGURATED BY TOURISM MINISTER

Lamtluang Online News: The Winter Festival 2024 was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii today (16 December 2024) at 2:00 pm at the AR Ground in Lammual, Aizawl, Mizoram.

In her inaugural address, the Minister praised the collaborative efforts of various government departments, community groups, and individuals in making the festival a success. She emphasised the importance of promoting tourism in Mizoram, highlighting its potential to generate income and create employment opportunities.

The Minister expressed her appreciation for the cooperation and support received from various departments, community groups, and individuals, which has enabled the successful organisation of the Winter Festival. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Tourism Department in promoting tourism in the state.

Mizoram has immense potential for tourism development, and the state government is committed to promoting tourism in a sustainable and responsible manner. The Winter Festival is an excellent opportunity for visitors to experience the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Mizoram.

The Winter Festival 2024 will run until 21 December 2024, and will feature a range of cultural programmes, exhibition stalls, food stalls, and other activities. The festival is expected to attract a large number of visitors from across the state and beyond.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr Lalrozama, Secretary, Tourism Department, and Pi R Lalrodingi, Director, Tourism Department, among other dignitaries.
